Brahmatal summit majestically stands at an altitude of 3718 mtrs.

Brahmatal is geographically situated in the district of Chamoli Garhwal.

Brahmatal has been considered as Lord Brahma`s abode of meditation since the beginning of time.

Brahmatal affirms the shape of Brahmakamal, the primordial flower of Himalayan region of Uttarakhand.

During winter in the months of November till March, the lake freezes completely, all trek routes are snow laden, while the crown stands snow-capped. Snow covered Brahmatal Summit can be attained by trekkers without much difficulty.

An active wild life can be witnessed throughout the trek route during monsoon time; Barasingha, Himalayan fox, beer, Himalayan wild goat (Black & White)… here to mention that Ibex/Thar; interestingly, mostly survives by licking the mountain slopes discharging medicinal juice of Atees, Katukki, Choru, Bhojptra… Monal, the effervescent Bird of Uttrakhand with feathers in rainbow palate welcomes you to the mountain land around.

There is never a dearth of oxygen during the entire trek route as Brahmatal valley is surrounded by dense forests of Deodar, Rododendron, Khorsu, Bhojpatra etc… so it acts as a reservoir of oxygen.

Monsoon is a lucrative time of lush-green nature to walk through this magical valley. This time of the year over the plateau is ventured by animals to graze the wet grassland of Himalayas. All through the year the illusive land of Brahmatal makes every traveller feel an intimate proximity with other legendary summits of Himalayas such as Nanda Ghunti, Trishuli, Khamil, Roopkund, Juragali …

Lohajung takes us inside an escape into a medieval story, a hamlet tucked away in the heart of the Himalayas’ mysteries. The village is located in the Chamoli region of the Garhwal ranges of the Himalayan highlands at an elevation of 2300 meters. Deeply rooted in mythology, the residents of Lohajung affirm that the village was the site of a battle between the goddess Parvati and the demon Lohasur, in which Parvati triumphed. As a result, this place was given the name Lohajung.

Lohajung is much sought after by mountain tourists all through the year for its remote location, village tourism, bird viewing, organic terrace farming… Lohajung is draped in a white sheet of snow in the winter and has a tropical environment in the summer, creating a perfect destination throughout the entire year. There are Trek routes that pass through the surrounding villages on their way to high altitude Himalayan destinations like Brahmatal Lake, Rookund Lake, Ronti Saddle, Khamil peak and a few other locations.

To acclimatize and prepare for their climb, trekkers typically settle up at our Alpine base camps at the heart of the settlement of Lohajung.
